Last updated: 19 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to products and services supplied by Vehicle Installers, including supply-only products, professional vehicle installations, mobile installation services, commercial vehicle conversions and bespoke vehicle projects.

Please read these terms carefully before placing an order, accepting a quotation or booking work with us.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. About Vehicle Installers

Vehicle Installers supplies vehicle equipment and provides professional vehicle installation and commercial vehicle conversion services.

Our services may include:

  • Supply-only vehicle products and accessories.
  • Professional installation of vehicle equipment.
  • Mobile installation.
  • Commercial vehicle electrical systems.
  • Mobile workshop conversions.
  • Mobile tyre van conversions.
  • Specialist and bespoke commercial vehicle conversions.
  • Fleet installations and repeat vehicle builds.

The exact products and services supplied will depend on the order, booking, quotation or project agreed with the customer.

2. Customers

These terms apply to both consumers and business customers, although different legal rights may apply depending on whether you are purchasing wholly or mainly for personal use or for the purposes of a trade or business.

Where a separate written quotation, project specification or commercial agreement is provided, those documents may contain additional terms specific to the work.

If there is a conflict between these general terms and specifically agreed written project terms, the specifically agreed terms will normally take precedence for that project, subject to applicable law.

3. Quotations

Quotations are based on the information available to Vehicle Installers at the time they are prepared.

Unless stated otherwise, a quotation may be subject to:

  • Vehicle inspection.
  • Confirmation of vehicle specification.
  • Availability and price of components.
  • Confirmation of customer requirements.
  • Site or installation requirements.
  • Discovery of previously unknown vehicle faults, modifications or damage.

A quotation does not become a binding order until it has been accepted in accordance with the quotation or booking process.

Where a quotation has an expiry date, prices may be reviewed after that date.

4. Orders

By placing an order through our website or accepting a quotation, you are requesting the products or services described in that order.

We may contact you where additional information is required before accepting or completing an order.

Vehicle Installers may decline an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • A product is unavailable.
  • The requested installation is unsuitable or unsafe.
  • Incorrect pricing has been displayed because of an obvious error.
  • We cannot reasonably provide the requested service.
  • Required information has not been provided.
  • Fraud or misuse is reasonably suspected.

Where payment has already been taken for an order we cannot accept, the appropriate amount will be refunded.

5. Prices

Prices displayed on the website or provided in a quotation will state or indicate what is included.

Additional work or components outside the agreed scope may result in additional charges.

Where additional work becomes necessary during an installation, we will normally discuss this with the customer before undertaking chargeable work beyond the agreed scope.

Obvious pricing errors do not require Vehicle Installers to supply goods or services at an obviously incorrect price where the error should reasonably have been apparent.

6. Deposits & Project Payments

Vehicle conversions, bespoke installations and other larger projects may require a deposit or staged payments.

The amount and payment schedule will be stated in the relevant quotation or project agreement.

Deposits may be used towards matters including:

  • Ordering components.
  • Reserving workshop capacity.
  • Design and planning.
  • Custom fabrication.
  • Special-order equipment.
  • Other costs specifically incurred for the project.

The treatment of a deposit following cancellation will depend on the circumstances, work already undertaken, commitments already made by Vehicle Installers and the customer’s applicable statutory rights.

Vehicle Installers will not apply cancellation charges or retain deposits in a manner that would be unlawful or unfair.

7. Payment

Payment methods available may include card payment, bank transfer, online payment services and approved third-party finance or payment providers.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment must be made according to the terms shown on the order, invoice or quotation.

For larger projects, final payment may be required before or upon vehicle collection following completion.

Vehicle Installers may reasonably suspend work or withhold release of goods or a vehicle where an undisputed payment that has become due remains unpaid, subject to applicable law.

8. Finance & Third-Party Payment Providers

Where finance, instalment payments or another third-party payment service is offered, the finance or payment agreement may be provided by an independent third party.

Approval is subject to that provider’s eligibility requirements and terms.

Vehicle Installers does not control whether a third-party provider approves an application.

The provider’s own terms, privacy policy and payment arrangements may apply in addition to the Vehicle Installers terms governing the underlying products or services.

9. Supply-Only Products

Products purchased without installation will be supplied according to the product description and order confirmation.

Delivery estimates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Customers should inspect deliveries within a reasonable period and contact us promptly where products appear:

  • Damaged.
  • Incorrect.
  • Incomplete.
  • Faulty.

Consumer cancellation and return rights are explained separately in our Refund & Returns Policy.

10. Professional Installation Services

Installation services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

Customers must provide accurate information about the vehicle and any relevant modifications or existing faults that could affect the installation.

Where appropriate, Vehicle Installers may need access to:

  • Vehicle electrical systems.
  • Interior trim.
  • Batteries.
  • Fuse boxes.
  • Body panels.
  • Existing aftermarket equipment.
  • Other parts of the vehicle reasonably necessary to undertake the agreed work.

Some installations may require trim, panels, fixings or other components to be temporarily removed and refitted.

We will take reasonable care when carrying out installation work.

11. Customer-Supplied Products & Equipment

Unless expressly agreed by Vehicle Installers in writing, we may decline to install products, components or equipment supplied by the customer.

Where Vehicle Installers agrees to install customer-supplied equipment:

  • The customer is responsible for ensuring the equipment is suitable for the intended vehicle and application.
  • Vehicle Installers is not responsible for defects inherent in customer-supplied equipment.
  • Additional labour required because of missing components, incorrect parts, poor instructions or compatibility issues may be chargeable.
  • Manufacturer warranty issues relating to customer-supplied products remain the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

Where we believe customer-supplied equipment cannot be installed safely or appropriately, we may refuse to install it.

Note: Where a particular service does not permit customer-supplied equipment, this may also be stated on the relevant product or service page.

12. Mobile Installation

Where mobile installation is agreed, the customer must provide a suitable and reasonably safe location for the work.

This may include sufficient:

  • Space around the vehicle.
  • Safe vehicle access.
  • Lighting where necessary.
  • Protection from unsuitable weather where required.
  • Access to electricity or other facilities where agreed as necessary.

Vehicle Installers or an approved installer may postpone or refuse to undertake work where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.

If an appointment cannot reasonably proceed because the customer has not provided suitable access, the correct vehicle is unavailable or the agreed site is unsuitable, reasonable costs incurred may be chargeable.

13. Vehicle Condition & Existing Faults

Before work begins, customers should inform Vehicle Installers of known:

  • Electrical faults.
  • Warning lights.
  • Battery or charging problems.
  • Water leaks.
  • Damaged trim or interior components.
  • Previous modifications.
  • Aftermarket wiring or equipment.
  • Other issues which may affect the installation.

Where appropriate, Vehicle Installers may record the condition of the vehicle before work begins using photographs, video or inspection records.

Vehicle Installers is not responsible for pre-existing faults or damage.

Where previously unknown faults or unsafe modifications are discovered, work may be paused while the issue is discussed with the customer.

Additional diagnostic or rectification work will not normally be undertaken without agreement.

14. Commercial Vehicle Conversions

Commercial vehicle conversions may involve a combination of design, fabrication, electrical work, equipment installation, flooring, lining, storage systems and other specialist work.

The exact scope of each conversion will be defined by the relevant quotation, specification, work order or project agreement.

Vehicle Installers may consider factors including:

  • Intended use of the vehicle.
  • Equipment requirements.
  • Payload and available space.
  • Storage requirements.
  • Electrical demand.
  • Battery capacity.
  • Charging systems.
  • Inverter requirements.
  • Lighting.
  • Cable routing and protection.
  • Equipment accessibility.
  • Serviceability.
  • Ventilation and heat management.
  • Safe equipment mounting.

Each conversion may differ according to the vehicle and customer requirements.

15. Bespoke & Custom Work

Bespoke work is produced or configured specifically for an individual customer, vehicle or application.

This may include:

  • Custom electrical systems.
  • Bespoke mounting arrangements.
  • Fabricated components.
  • Custom storage.
  • Special-order equipment.
  • Vehicle-specific wiring.
  • Bespoke panels or assemblies.
  • Purpose-built conversion components.

Because bespoke goods and services may be created specifically for an individual project, cancellation and return rights may differ from standard supply-only products.

Any applicable consumer statutory rights remain unaffected.

16. Changes to a Project

Customers may request changes during a conversion or installation project.

Where a requested change affects price, labour, materials or completion time, Vehicle Installers may provide a revised quotation or variation.

A significant variation should be approved before the additional work is undertaken.

Vehicle Installers may also recommend changes where the original specification becomes impractical, unsafe or incompatible with the vehicle.

No material change will normally be made without discussing it with the customer.

17. Parts & Materials

Vehicle Installers may use components from different manufacturers depending on availability, specification and project requirements.

Where a particular brand, model or specification has been expressly agreed, we will aim to supply that item.

If an agreed component becomes unavailable, Vehicle Installers may offer an appropriate alternative for customer approval.

We will not knowingly substitute a materially inferior product without informing the customer.

18. Parts Availability & Project Delays

We will make reasonable efforts to meet estimated installation and completion dates.

However, delays can occur because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Supplier delays.
  • Component shortages.
  • Courier delays.
  • Manufacturer back orders.
  • Vehicle availability.
  • Previously unknown vehicle faults.
  • Additional customer-requested work.
  • Severe weather affecting mobile work.
  • Illness or unexpected staff/installer availability.
  • Other events outside our reasonable control.

Where a significant delay occurs, we will aim to keep the customer reasonably informed.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, completion dates for bespoke projects should be treated as estimates rather than guaranteed deadlines.

19. Vehicle Access & Customer Property

Where a vehicle is left with Vehicle Installers, the customer authorises reasonable movement of the vehicle where necessary to carry out, inspect or test the agreed work.

Vehicle Installers will take reasonable care of vehicles, keys and customer property in our possession.

Customers should remove unnecessary valuables and personal possessions before leaving a vehicle for work.

We are not responsible for loss of items that were not reasonably disclosed to us and which were unrelated to the work, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

20. Testing & Commissioning

Vehicle Installers may carry out appropriate testing following installation or conversion work.

Depending on the project, this may include testing of:

  • Lighting.
  • Charging systems.
  • Batteries.
  • Inverters.
  • Electrical circuits.
  • Cameras.
  • Trackers.
  • Security equipment.
  • Compressors.
  • Air systems.
  • Installed machinery.
  • Other fitted equipment.

Where appropriate, a vehicle or installed system may be operated under load to confirm correct operation.

Customers must not interfere with testing or safety procedures while work is being commissioned.

21. Quality Control & Completion Records

Vehicle Installers may maintain records relating to work undertaken, including:

  • Job sheets.
  • Installation records.
  • Test results.
  • Photographs.
  • Videos.
  • Quality-control checks.
  • Component information.
  • Vehicle details.

These records may be retained for legitimate operational, warranty, quality-control, training and dispute-resolution purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

For larger conversions, completion may include a final inspection or quality-control process before the vehicle is released.

22. Collection & Completion

Customers will be notified when their vehicle or project is ready for collection where applicable.

Any outstanding amount due should be paid in accordance with the agreed payment terms.

Customers should inspect the completed work within a reasonable period and notify us promptly if they believe anything differs from the agreed specification or if a problem becomes apparent.

Where appropriate, Vehicle Installers should be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and rectify concerns.

23. Workmanship & Installation Warranty

Vehicle Installers stands behind the workmanship of installations carried out by us or on our behalf.

Where a genuine workmanship issue is identified, please contact us promptly so that we can investigate.

Where Vehicle Installers is responsible for defective installation work, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with the circumstances and applicable law.

This may include rectification of the installation.

Nothing in these terms limits statutory rights relating to services that must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

24. Product Warranties

Products may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.

Warranty duration and conditions vary between manufacturers and products.

Where appropriate, Vehicle Installers may assist customers with a valid warranty issue relating to a product we supplied.

Manufacturer warranties are additional to applicable statutory rights and do not replace them.

Warranty coverage may not apply to problems caused by matters such as:

  • Misuse.
  • Accidental damage.
  • Unauthorised modification.
  • Incorrect third-party installation.
  • Failure to follow manufacturer instructions.
  • Normal wear and tear where applicable.

25. Third-Party Work & Modifications

Vehicle Installers cannot accept responsibility for subsequent work, alterations or modifications carried out by another person that cause or contribute to a fault with our installation.

If another installer, garage or customer alters wiring, equipment, mounting or other parts of an installation, this may affect our ability to diagnose or warrant the affected work.

This does not affect liability for faults genuinely caused by Vehicle Installers.

26. Approved Installers & Subcontractors

Vehicle Installers may use appropriately selected employees, installers or subcontractors to carry out some services.

Where work is carried out on behalf of Vehicle Installers, the customer’s contract remains subject to the agreed Vehicle Installers order or service arrangement unless expressly stated otherwise.

Approved installers may be provided with information reasonably necessary to undertake the work, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Vehicle Installers maintains requirements relating to installer approval, training, competency and working standards.

27. Vehicle Modifications, Documentation & Insurance

Some installations or conversions may alter the specification, use, weight, electrical system or equipment fitted to a vehicle.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that their insurer is informed of modifications where required.

Depending on the nature of a conversion, additional requirements relating to vehicle documentation, taxation, classification, testing, weights or other regulatory matters may apply.

Unless specifically included within an agreed project, Vehicle Installers does not undertake responsibility for updating the customer’s insurance policy or vehicle documentation on their behalf.

Where Vehicle Installers becomes aware of a specific requirement relevant to work being undertaken, we may bring this to the customer’s attention, but customers remain responsible for satisfying requirements that apply to their ownership and use of the vehicle.

28. Vehicle Weight & Payload

Commercial vehicle conversions and installed equipment can affect a vehicle’s available payload.

The customer remains responsible for operating their vehicle within its legal weight limits.

Where weight is a significant consideration in a conversion, Vehicle Installers may take component weights, layout and expected payload into account when designing the installation.

The customer should tell us about unusually heavy equipment or loads that the completed vehicle will routinely carry so this can be considered during planning.

Vehicle Installers does not authorise the operation of an overloaded vehicle.

29. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must provide accurate information reasonably required for us to supply products or undertake work.

This includes, where relevant:

  • Correct vehicle make, model, registration and specification.
  • Intended use of the vehicle.
  • Relevant existing modifications.
  • Known faults or damage.
  • Equipment requirements.
  • Access requirements.
  • Information reasonably required to design a bespoke conversion.

The customer is responsible for using installed equipment in accordance with applicable instructions and for carrying out appropriate routine maintenance.

Customers must not knowingly use equipment in an unsafe manner.

30. Customer-Specified Designs

Where a customer specifically requests a particular layout, component, installation method or configuration contrary to our recommendation, Vehicle Installers may decline to carry out that request where we reasonably believe it would be unsafe, unlawful or unsuitable.

Where we agree to a customer-requested variation after explaining relevant concerns, responsibility for the consequences of the customer’s specification will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

Nothing in this section permits Vehicle Installers to avoid responsibility for work that we are legally required to perform with reasonable care and skill.

31. Fault Reporting & Opportunity to Inspect

If you believe there is a problem with a product, installation or conversion supplied by Vehicle Installers, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Where appropriate, please provide:

  • Your order, invoice or project reference.
  • Vehicle registration.
  • Description of the problem.
  • Photographs or video where useful.
  • Details of when the problem first occurred.

Vehicle Installers should normally be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and investigate an alleged installation or workmanship issue before third-party repairs or alterations are undertaken.

This does not affect any statutory rights or prevent reasonable emergency action where necessary to protect people or property.

32. Complaints

We aim to resolve problems fairly and promptly.

Complaints should initially be sent to:

support@vehicleinstallers.co.uk

Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant order, vehicle or project and understand the concern.

We may request additional information or an opportunity to inspect the vehicle before reaching a conclusion.

33. Our Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

This includes liability that cannot legally be excluded for matters such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and applicable statutory consumer rights.

Vehicle Installers is responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our failure to comply with our contractual obligations where applicable.

We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not attributable to a breach by Vehicle Installers or which was not reasonably foreseeable, subject always to applicable law.

34. Business Customers & Commercial Losses

Where the customer is acting wholly or mainly for purposes relating to their trade, business, craft or profession, additional commercial considerations may apply.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise and subject to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, Vehicle Installers will not be responsible to a business customer for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside the reasonable scope of the agreed work.

Where downtime or loss of use could create significant commercial losses, business customers should make appropriate contingency arrangements and discuss any critical completion requirements with us before work begins.

Any project-specific allocation of risk or liability agreed in a separate commercial contract may apply in addition to these general terms.

Perfect. Continue directly underneath Section 26 with this final part.

27. Vehicle Modifications, Documentation & Insurance

Where downtime or loss of use could create significant commercial losses, business customers should make appropriate contingency arrangements and discuss any critical completion requirements with us before work begins.

Any project-specific allocation of risk or liability agreed in a separate commercial contract may apply in addition to these general terms.

35. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control

Vehicle Installers will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.

These may include matters such as:

  • Supplier or manufacturer disruption.
  • Significant transport disruption.
  • Severe weather.
  • Fire or flood.
  • Utility or telecommunications failure.
  • Government restrictions.
  • Industrial disputes.
  • Serious illness or unexpected loss of essential personnel.
  • Other circumstances which could not reasonably have been avoided.

Where such an event materially affects an order or project, we will aim to communicate with the customer and resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable.

36. Photographs & Project Records

Vehicle Installers may photograph or record installation and conversion work for legitimate purposes including:

  • Job records.
  • Quality control.
  • Warranty records.
  • Training.
  • Internal technical reference.

Where photographs or videos are intended for public marketing, social media, case studies or promotional use, we will take appropriate steps regarding identifiable personal information and any relevant customer restrictions.

Customers should notify us where there are particular confidentiality or security requirements relating to a vehicle or project.

37. Intellectual Property & Bespoke Designs

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Vehicle Installers retains ownership of its pre-existing intellectual property, including internal procedures, technical documents, templates, training materials and proprietary designs.

Payment for a conversion or installation does not automatically transfer ownership of Vehicle Installers’ underlying processes, templates or intellectual property.

This does not affect the customer’s ownership of the physical products or completed work they have purchased.

Where bespoke design documentation is specifically commissioned and intellectual-property ownership forms part of the project, this should be agreed separately in writing.

38. Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure information on our website is accurate.

Product images, specifications and descriptions may occasionally change because manufacturers update products or components.

Images may be illustrative and colours or appearance can vary between displays.

Where a material product specification changes before an order is fulfilled, we will deal with the change appropriately and, where necessary, contact the customer.

39. Website Availability

We cannot guarantee that the website will always be available without interruption.

We may temporarily suspend or modify parts of the website for maintenance, security, updates or other operational reasons.

This does not affect existing contractual obligations relating to accepted orders.

40. Personal Information

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information may be provided to employees, approved installers, subcontractors, payment providers, delivery providers or other organisations where reasonably necessary to fulfil an order or provide a service.

Please refer to the Vehicle Installers Privacy Policy for further information.

41. Cancellation & Returns

Cancellation, returns and refund arrangements are explained in our Refund & Returns Policy.

For bespoke conversions, special-order components and installation services, additional project-specific cancellation arrangements may apply.

Nothing in these terms or our Refund & Returns Policy affects statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

42. Ending a Project or Service

Vehicle Installers may suspend or terminate work where there is a serious reason to do so, including:

  • Unsafe working conditions.
  • Requests to undertake unlawful or unsafe work.
  • Serious abusive or threatening behaviour.
  • Material non-payment of an undisputed amount that has become due.
  • Fraud or deliberate misrepresentation.
  • Circumstances that make it impossible to safely or lawfully complete the agreed work.

Where possible and appropriate, we will explain the reason and any financial consequences relating to work, goods or commitments already undertaken.

Customer cancellation rights remain subject to the applicable agreement, our Refund & Returns Policy and applicable law.

43. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions as our products, services or legal obligations change.

The version applying to an accepted order or project will normally be the version in force when the relevant contract was entered into, unless a later change is expressly agreed or is required by law.

The latest version will be published on our website with its revision date.

44. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply so far as legally possible.

45. No Waiver

If Vehicle Installers does not immediately enforce a contractual right, this does not necessarily mean that right has been waived.

46. Third-Party Rights

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a person who is not a party to the relevant contract does not have rights to enforce its terms, subject to applicable law.

47. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or reduce rights provided to consumers by applicable UK law.

Consumer protections may include rights relating to goods being of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services being performed with reasonable care and skill.

Our contractual policies operate alongside those statutory rights.

48. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory legal protections applicable where you live, and nothing in these terms removes those protections.
